The New Havana are a cigar-based events company (yes really) and needed a strong logo for their start-up.
This design has a weathered/distressed look which definitely adds flavour and character to the design. Leaf imagery is utilised and in this case has the added benefit of being an option in future branding needs. For example, the leaf ‘icon’ could be used as a patterned background on a business card, or it could reiforce the brand by being placed in a corner of every page of a menu, (when the full logo would be overkill).
A little more character has been established by playing with the A and V shapes making those triangles effortlessly work with each other. The colouring of this logo stays with a warm hue, a vibrant rusty orange -which is derived from the Cuban climate.
